TEXAS!!

We spent the last week and a half in Texas visiting with my parents and brother. It was awesome!! I don't think we could have squeezed in anything else. If we weren't exploring San Marcos/Austin/San Antonio/Gruene/New Braunfels/Schlitterbahn/Enchanted Rock/Fredericksberg, then we were probably sleeping or swimming at the pool. My parents live in one of the most beautiful parts of Texas! So much to see and do! Several years ago, I introduced Aaron to Texas in August, in Houston, and they didn't really bond. Go figure, right... Now - he thinks it's the bomb!

San Diego Airport - Getting ready to fly

One of the first things we did in Texas was visit the Schlitterbahn Waterpark. Amazing!! I didn't bring my camera - so there aren't pictures of our first trip but we went back the following week and got some good shots. The waterpark was a bit overwhelming to us. We'd been warned to wear water shoes - thankfully. We arrived there when it opened and were already late! People line up for hours before opening just to be the first on rides and to skip the long lines at the ride. There was really no way to avoid lines - we just tried to make the best of it. We spent the morning on the Blastenhoff side and waited nearly two and half hours to ride the Master Blaster. It was AWESOME! Not sure 2 1/2 hour awesome but pretty cool! My girls are fearless so I try to pretend that these rides don't make me nervous.... We spent the afternoon on the original section of the Schlitterbahn. Loved it! Went down several tube rides and spent some time in the Lagoon cooling off. We closed the park down at 8:00 PM. The lines weren't as long later in the day.

Though it was HOT this year again, you made some good choices to hit the water as often as possible. We miss you already!

This is a perfect itinerary for our trip in Oct. It looks like you had a great time! Wish we could have been there too!
